Crotalo Anejo Tequila
Crótalo Añejo is double barrel aged for just over 2 years. It is aged for little over a year in French Oak barrels and is finished for 1 year in our proprietary oak barrels. Aging in the combination of barrels matures and mellows the Tequila in both aroma and flavor. Crótalo Añejo can be sipped like a fine Scotch or Brandy. Double barrel aged…wow! Normally when I open a bottle of tequila from Patron I immediately get hit with those ethyls and a pungent smell. Crotalo has none of that. It has a pleasant vanilla smell. The color of thi añejo makes you believe it’s bourbon. At first taste you get a smooth plum flavor that changes to that familiar agave taste and a fine finish that doesnt pack heat and leaves the tongue clean and no burn in your throat…most excellent. This tequila if a fine sipping spirit and any accoutrements such as salt or lime would be criminal. So flavorful at room temperature. Highly reccomend.

I found this to be a passable sipping tequila, with a medium burn. It is lacking the layers of flavor usually found in an oak aged anejo.
